Understanding Time Zones

I have been doing a bit of research on how to understand why our world has different times depending which country we are in. It is to do with time zones. Some countries are in the same times zone. This video can get a little tricky to work out, but your parents may be able to help you as well as what we can learn in class.

The simple maths in this is that New Zealand, at the moment, is 11 hours ahead of London England. This means that when you start school at 9 am it would be 10 pm the night before. So if I want to Skype the class at 10am New Zealand time what time would it be in London?
